8:30 - 10:00 A.M. — Breakfast/Meeting
Please join us for the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Delaware Valley Healthcare Council of HAP (DVHC). This year’s meeting features more time for networking – a full hour fom 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. – and a keynote address by former White House Chief-of-Staff Andrew Card. A key player in recent U.S. economic, domestic and foreign policy developments, Mr. Card will discuss the impact of the 2008 presidential election on health care, the economy and other crucial issues facing the nation.
As the premier gathering of the Philadelphia area’s health care and hospital communities, the DVHC Annual Meeting attracts approximately 400 executives and professionals. Many look forward to the meeting as an opportunity to catch up with friends and collegues from across the region, renewing long-time connections and making new ones. We hope to see you at the meeting!
Keynote Speaker:
Andrew H. Card, Jr., Former White House Chief of Staff
As Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2006, Andrew Card personally participated in major recent economic, domestic, and foreign policy developments. This unusually long tenure makes Mr. Card the second-longest serving White House Chief of Staff in U.S. history. Mr. Card also served in the administrations of President George Bush and President Ronald Reagan. Under President Bush, he served as U.S. Secretary of Transportation and as Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff. Mr. Card served President Reagan as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and subsequently as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Currently, Mr. Card is a senior counselor at the global public relations firm Fleischman-Hillard. He also serves on the board of directors at Union Pacific Corporation.

Legislative and hospital leaders will be recognized for leadership, advocacy, patient safety, efforts to increase organ donation and excellence in environmental stewardship.

Sponsorship Opportunities:
To provide organizations with a variety of ways to support the Annual Meeting and gain visibility with the region’s health care leaders, the 2008 DVHC Annual Meeting sponsor package has four levels of participation. With the Annual Meeting happening just before the 2008 presidential election – and Andrew Card remarking on the politics of health care – DVHC has a special opportunity for a healthcare technology provider to sponsor a web-based mock election for the Delaware Valley health care community. If your organization is interested in showcasing your firm’s capabilities at one of the region’s most well-attended healthcare events, please contact us immediately as there is only one position open. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, including display opportunities, please contact Brian Eury at 215-575-3739.
Parking Arrangements:
Parking is available at 5-Star parking garage on Juniper Street, next to the Wanamaker Building. The early bird rates apply at $16.00 per car. We have made special arrangements with 5-Star to expedite the process of entering and exiting the garage; however, if time constraints are an issue and you would like to park at an alternative lot, please visit the
