Utilization Reports

DVHC collects and reports monthly utilization statistics for hospitals in the Delaware Valley. The statistics include number of beds, patient days and admissions along with average length of stay and occupancy. These statistics are reported for each hospital, grouped by hospital type, and for each of seven services—Medical/Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Psychiatric, Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing, and Special Services. It is also reported for NICU, Pediatric ICU and Adult ICU. The number of births, emergency department visits and outpatient clinics visits at each hospital is also reported. Reporting hospitals include all acute hospitals in the region and virtually all psychiatric and rehabilitation hospitals. The monthly reports provide a narrative summarizing the statistics and comparing them to the previous month and the same month the prior year, as well as trend charts and graphs.

If you have any questions about the system, please contact Angela Poole, Senior Manager Regional Data and Information Systems.
